Hectic – Nike SB in South Africa

Grey Skate Mag presents ‘Hectic’, with the UK Nike SB squad in South Africa captured by the lens of Will Miles as the explore the streets, alleys and architectural oddities of Cape Town. Cape Town might have a more pleasant weather pattern than London but the spots look just as, if not more, rugged than what these streets have to offer – from tin roof drop ins to grass hillbomb/stair set combinations and from jersey barrier channels to multiple kink, thread the needle rail to bank ollies, everything skated here looks set firmly to kill mode. The stair set/barbed wire combination which Korahn takes on switch is particularly grim looking.
Luckily the combined talents of Marca Barbier, Casper Brooker, Kyron Davis, Korahn Gayle, Chris Jones, Kanya Spani and Kyle Wilson are up to the challenges offered up by weather beaten crustiness and the slams are surprisingly thin on the ground – nonwithstanding Casper Brooker’s nutsack splat at 2:29, which sits on the fence between funny and grim. With one leg on either side. Go have a watch by pressing play below, pick up the latest issue of Grey Skate Mag for the tour article and get hyped to switch ollie over some barbed wire covered stairs…or don’t, we won’t hold that last one against you.
