The Wayward Wheels brand was founded in 2014 and is owned by pro skaters Benny Fairfax and Andrew Brophy as a side project to their careers as professional skaters for Palace and Girl Skateboards.

The name is a nod to the Southbank originated PWBC skate gang, (AKA ‘Palace Waywards Boys Choir’ and/or the ‘Palace Waywards Book Club’ depending on whom you ask), which was focused around a virtual squat in Waterloo, London where many of the founding members of what went on to become Palace Skateboards resided in the mid 00’s.

Since its foundation, Wayward Wheels have quickly assembled a truly staggering roster of riders including some of the biggest names in global skateboarding such as Lucas Puig, Diego Najera, Mike Carroll and Rodrigo TX, along with Brophy and Fairfax themselves.

With the PWBC connection it should come as no surprise that Palace Skateboards pro, (and recipient of the coveted last part in Palace’s recently released full-length video ‘Palasonic’) Lucien Clarke has been on the Wayward Wheels team since the outset.

These Wayward Lucien Clarke ‘Tre Wheels’ encompass Lucien’s approach to technical street skating with a relatively small diameter 51mm wheel (suited for a low to mid profile truck) made from high-quality USA manufactured urethane in a slim, round cut shape.

Embossed with Wayward’s distinctive colour-based logo and Clarke’s name, these Lucien Clarke ‘Tre Wheels’ come in at a street-friendly 99a durometer reading, which is towards to the top end of the hardness scale, meaning that they will slide easily on tricks involving wheel contact but are still soft enough to deal with the less-than-smooth surfaces of the UK.

Basically, a no-nonsense wheel from one of the newest skater-owned wheel brands on the market – enough said.
