Since 1994, Chocolate Skateboards have been regarded as being at the top of their game, focusing firmly on style, progression, individuality and quality. Along with their sister company Girl, Chocolate have housed some of the biggest and most influential names in modern skateboarding, and are responsible for putting out some of the most crucial street skating productions of the 1990s and the 2000s so far. Releases such as ‘Las Nueve Vidas De Paco’ (1996), ‘The Chocolate Tour’ (1999) and ‘Hot Chocolate’ (2004), and even the more recent ‘Pretty Sweet’ (2012) contain classic moments in skateboarding history, be it Keenan Milton pushing his way around Lockwood to Desmond Dekker, or Gino’s legendary “skate part”.

So where exactly does Jerry Hsu fit into the Chocolate Skateboards picture? Well, his long time cohort Marc Johnson joined Chocolate from enjoi back in 2003, leaving Jerry to head up the San Jose centric team alongside fellow Tiltmode Army member Louie Barletta.

Following the departure of enjoi brand manager Matt Eversole in late 2013, Jerry decided the time was right to find his gifted feet a new 7-ply home, and after a brief period of message board speculation, the announcement came in September 2013 that Jerry had followed in the steps of his old pal MJ and was now officially a part of the Chocolate family.

Well, keeping things simple and effective as always, Chocolate’s famous OG ‘Chunk’ logo can be seen here on the red wood stain of the bottom ply along with Jerry Hsu’s name also proudly displayed, written again in Chocolate’s signature ‘Chunk’ font.
