VOLCOM has agreed to put one talented Sidewalk reader’s handiwork onto a garment in it’s ‘Featured Artist’ range!
“Like roots made of lightning bolts the Volcom Featured Artist Series has been alive and growing for over ten years. It’s purpose of providing vast and expansive new canvases for artists to spread their vision is still alive with vigor. Since 1995, Volcom has lent it’s fabric and ink to artists with imagination and foresight to add color, depth and contrast to a planet that can never have enough.”
So, get your crayons and poster-paints out, don your floppy Parisian-style berets and let your artistic juices flow (not in that way nicfromsidcup!). The winner will not only get a pile of Volcom goodies but ALSO your design will be incorporated into the range and could actually be sold in skateshops around the world! How sick is that?
All that you have to do is follow these simple steps:

B: Print out the PDF (blow up to A3 if more space is needed)
C: Create your design within the T-Shirt template
D: Send it to us at our new address.(see below)
IMPORTANT: Make sure you include your name, email address and a contact telephone number so we can let you know if you’ve won!
If you want to use a new fangled computer to make your design simply burn the design to a CD and send to the same address.

There are almost no restrictions on what you can supply (obviously you need to bear in mind that the t-Shirt will be on-sale so a design featuring genitals and swastikas is going to end up in the bin faster than a ‘peace treaty’ in The White House). Be as creative and original as possible – GO NUTS! – As part of the F.A.series there is no requirement to use existing Volcom logos, or any logos at all. (Volcom reserve the right to make any necessary minor alterations to your artwork in order for it to fit onto the garment; and will discreetly add the Volcom Featured Artist logo if necessary. We will not be able to return entries so make sure you make a copy before sending it in.)
The closing deadline for receiving entries for this competition is 14th June 2007. The winner will be selected by the heads at Volcom and will be announced in Sidewalk 130 (July). The winning design will feature in the Fall 08 line. (Yes, it does take this long for your design to be incorporated into the range – just accept it!).
