Photography is the lifeblood of skateboarding. Whether it’s knee-crushing handrail action, aerial insanity on vert, or just a great photo of friends skating together, it’s crucial that there’s someone on hand to capture those moments for posterity.
Without documentation, those fleeting memories, hard-fought for tricks, or treasured visual souvenirs of skate road trips fade slowly over time and are eventually forgotten. That’s why photography is so crucial, it preserves these passing moments of victory and adventure forever.
A photograph makes memories, and captures them for eternity.
We’re looking for the undiscovered photographers out there. A new generation, whatever the age, out there shooting in the streets and skateparks of the UK – this is your chance to show us your photography.
Entering couldn’t be easier. Whether it’s an old shot or a new one – as long as it’s one of your own – add #canonfirsts to your skateboarding photos when you upload them to Instagram.
Editors from the Factory Media network, which includes the biggest names in Skate, BMX, Snow, Outdoors, Cycling and Adventure will sit down and pick the winners.
Photographs simply have to be your own work, and good enough to impress our panel of action sport and adventure judges. So, what are you waiting for?
