Following on from getting his name screen printed onto a Lovenskate board this week, coupled with his wanton destruction of park’s across Europe which has earned him more than one podium place on the contest circuit this summer, we decided that this week’s Sunday Service was best dedicated to celebrating Alex Hallford‘s turning pro – and what better way to start that than with his curtain closing part in Lovenskate’s 2015 video Smorgasboard, an 80s new wave fuelled slice of all terrain shredding which he shared with fellow transition enthusiast Ewen Bower.

Crowborough’s finest kicks things off with a bevy of flowing street lines, escaping the confines of Stockwell for a while before the draw of Brixton Beach and thoughts of Maria’s sunbathing habits become too much to bear – a mental anguish which clearly found an outlet in reckless behaviour, as he ends his half of proceedings with a particularly large gap at said legendary skatepark that not too many would consider.

Alex then kicks things off from his end with seven walls of padless, nonchalantly gnarly vertical cruising before going on to take the piss out of any number of transition variables including the venerable crust of Bowes-Lyon in Stevenage and London’s (the UK’s?) best DIY build. There’s even some street business thrown in for good measure, offering up a fairly encompassing look at Hallford’s on-board talents and achieving that goal to which all video parts should strive towards (but which many fall short of) – making you genuinely want to go out and skate. Have a watch, do so, then raise a pint to one of Nottingham’s gnarliest. Congratulations Alex!
