Check out the footage from last weekend’s Nike SB 2015 Barcelona Am, which looks like it went off, as well as the day in their own words…
The Nike SB Barcelona AM – the first stop of the Nike SB 2015 European Series saw 90 of Europe’s top AM skaters compete for a share of a€10,000 cash prize at the brand new Skate Agora plaza in Badalona.
All skaters brought added heat to the beach, opening up the new skatepark in proper style much to the appreciation of the full house crowd.
An original 90 competitors went through qualifiers and semis and onto a closely fought 15 man final of top draw skating.
The top qualifier Kilian Zehnder had been raging all weekend, with confident technical skating using the whole park with typical stoke, marking him high with the judges with a casual switch front feeble down the rail. His final run missed his usual consistency however, leaving the door ajar for Kevin Baekkel to steal a couple of furious and solid left field runs, mixing 360 nose grabs, early grab crooks and boneless to nose blunt, whipping the crowd into a frenzy and himself into 1st place.
