NASS Festival is stoked to announce a UK exclusive skate demo by US brand Welcome Skateboards, alongside a host of pro talent in the NASS Skate Pro in association with Mountain Dew.

Daniel Vargas, Aaron Goure, Roman Pabich, Rick Fabro, Will Blaty, Jason Salillas, Ryan Lay and Ryan Townley will be making the trip from the states this July as NASS takes the standard of skate at the festival to the next level.

Welcome Skateboards, known throughout the skate community for their unique board shapes and graphics, were formed back in 2010 by Jason Celaya. They have since built up a strong following all around the globe as one of the most inspirational independent skate brands out there.

The brand first came to light through Celaya’s blog and has since grown to become one of the most diverse skate teams in the world, as documented in the brands first full length feature ‘Fetish’ which secured  Welcome’s place as one of the top US skateboard brands in the industry right now.  From collaborations with Adidas skateboarding to worldwide distribution, Welcome are continuously on the up and not to be missed at NASS 2017.

The addition of the Welcome team means that this year the festival is pushing its progression of the sport further and further, as does the announcement that 3-time NASS champion Danny Leon, 2016 favourite Clay Kreiner and a host of top pros will compete in the NASS Skate Pro in association with Mountain Dew.

Joining Leon and Kreiner is Jocke ‘Airlines’ Olsson, Dannie Carlson, Tomas Vintr, Jamie Mateu, Ewan Bower, Sam Pulley, Adam Keats, Alex Decuhna, Jordan Thackery, Ben Grove, Kris Vile, Ross McGouran, Jeromy Green, Edi Damestoy, Paul-Luc Ronchetti and Jak Pietryga.

Reigning pro-park champion Danny Leon will no doubt face some stiff competition for his crown and Kreiner will be looking to build on his second-place pro park and 3rd place pro vert finish, a result he achieved despite tearing his ankle ligaments before the finals.

This year’s prize purses are now bigger than ever; the NASS Pro Park is offering a purse of $12k while Vert stands at a staggering $10k. Europe’s leading skate park builders Four One Four Skate parks will design the Pro Park and given last year’s course; with its monster drop ins, open loops and huge transitions, 2017’s design ought to be even more epic and will certainly push the riders to their limits.

Richie Inskip, NASS Sports Manager, said:  “We’re really stoked to have the Welcome Team coming to NASS this year. It’s incredibly important that we push the progression of the festival year on year and having one of the hottest teams around in attendance is certainly a way to do it.”

“We’ve really amped up the skate scene at NASS this year and we’re stoked to have Danny and Clay returning and this first group of pro’s are going to give them a run for their money. The guys at Four One Four are doing some awesome work with the park, the design is insane and I can’t wait to see how it rides.”

Inspired by the individuality and creativity of alternative youth culture, 15,000 music & action sport fans will make their way to the Bath & West Showground for a weekend of action sports, live music and hardcore revelry.

Hip Hop royalty in the shape of Wu Tang Clan’s Method Man and Redman have been announced to headline Friday night supported by rising grime star Giggs. They join grime legend Kano, Aussie Drum and Bass outfit Pendulum and DJ duo Sigma with many more musical acts still to be announced.
