Win Joby’s Smartphone Gorillapod Range Plus £500 | Photo Competition

Use the hashtag #JobyPhoto to win three awesome products from Joby’s new phone-friendly range, plus £500 in cash…

We’ve been running a contest over Instagram, Facebook and Twitter in association with Joby the brand behind the original Gorillapod to give you all a chance to win three products from their new phone-friendly range, plus £500 in cash.

We’ve had a ton of great entries so far with all types of spots and skaters popping up and you’ve still got time to enter if you haven’t already – winners will be selected and announced on October 23rd so if you’ve shot a skate photo that you’re stoked on, now’s the time to get involved.

Putting yourself in with a chance to win is simple – just add the hashtag #JobyPhoto to your skate photos on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and we will pick our favourites. Get tagging!

Below you’ll find 5 of our favourites so far to give you an idea of what you’re up against but this competition is open to everyone, pro or amateur alike, and you’ll only have a chance if you get involved. Good luck!

Francis Hasselmash – one foot ollie – photo by @timo_smitho

It ought to be obvious why we’ve picked this Tim Smith shot out of the entries so far.
Amazing lighting, crazy spot (and if you’ve been there like we have, you’ll also know that you get the boot after about 10 seconds so managing to shoot anything is a coup in itself), beautiful composition and a classic trick from one of Huddersfield’s younger heads.

Joe McComb – hardflip – photo by @ashwilsonphoto

Another no-brainer – that spot alone makes this Ash Wilson shot of Joe McComb stand out. Hardflip, God knows where with the added bonus of crazy-looking geometry strewn across the foreground.

Reece Archibald – no hand 5050 – photo by @picele_fotografie

We’ve seen this traditional freestyle skater popping up on a lot of Manchester Urbis Instagram clips recently so it’s rad to see a photo submission featuring an often-overlooked type of skating going on at one of the UK’s most famous street skating spots. The focus on his face screams at you in this one.

Veliko Balabanov – slappy 5050 – photo by @bratboydimo

There’s a lot going on here in this submission from Sofia, Bulgaria. Heavy slam potential with the filmer risking his lens in the foreground gives this one a moody sense of the inevitable. Classic shot-from-beneath angle of a scary trick.

Henry Fox – crooked grind – photo by @charlie.elmer.photo

This crooks at Birmigham’s Fastlands was shot by young skater and photographer Charlie Elmer at the weekend during the No Comply Network Jam. Hot off the press toe-control by Henry Fox at a classic UK location.
