Byelaw could ban skateboarding in Norwich city centre

There is a proposal to create a byelaw banning skateboarding in the city centre of Norwich and despite the headline of the article being wrong it is still something to take notice of.

The LLSB campaign proved how much of an impact the skateboard community has when united for a worthy cause and this sort of thing should be fought.

Understandably there are various negatives for the public with skatebaording causing damage but many philistines fail to realize certain things which we assume is common sense.

EG nobbing ledges costs more tax money than it’s worth and looks less aesthetically pleasing than a ground down ledge.

BMXers often damage ledges which are far too high/wrong material/impossible for skateboarders to touch, NOT forgetting natural weathering!

If you approach skateboarders, or anyone all guns blazing with ignorant comments why should they treat you with respect (even though acting overly nice seems to counteract this).

It’s also worth mentioning you should be respectful of others, like not skating a war memorial but it’s very questionable if anybody actually did!

Please let your views be known to Norwich council officials here preferably politely and reasonably to benefit the communtiy as a whole here:
