Stoked on this one – proving to those of you who live primarily through Instagram that yes, there are more spots in Paris than ‘that place off the Supreme videos with the ledges‘ and that there is a thriving skate rat scene searching out crusty, interesting shit hidden away in the suburbs.
‘Natidi’ is the latest release from the Cinquieme Terrasse (that’s the ‘Fifth Terrace’ crew to us Anglophones) and is stacked full of exciting street skating filmed predominantly in Paris, with a few Barcelona bits thrown in too, (keep your eyes peeled for the bigspin hand-varial down MACBA).
Filmed and edited by Elliot Bonnabel and featuring skateboarding from the likes of Nicolas Gisonno, Lilian Fev, Morgan Katomba, Lilian Ceccon, Etienne Chatelain, Julien Morin, Thomas Gouillon, Antoine Rauber, Marca Barbier, Kevin Ozcan and Wayward London‘s latest recruit Jerome Sossou.
Additional filming is handled by Victor Demonte with Morgan Katomba on animation duties.
If, like me, you’re also stoked on the music used, you’ll be happy to know that they’ve even included info on that in the YouTube description so that you can blast the likes of Jacques Greene – After Life After Party (find on Soundcloud here – Jacques Greene safe in the knowledge that your awareness of French Soundcloud artists is as up to date as your trousers.
Seriously though, you will enjoy this – it’s the perfect mixture of new-wave street skating, great music and positive interactions with the general public.
We maybe wouldn’t recommend dropping into a tiled hubba whilst a Parisian Metro train screams past you at full speed but, beyond that, go dive in.
If you liked this (which you will) go subscribe to their YouTube channel at Cinquieme Terrasse for plenty more.
Big up all involved.
