As one his favorite brands since childhood, Hayashi reminisces,
“One of the first Powell Peralta boards I purchased was a Skull & Sword Ray “Bones” Rodriguez, created by Vernon Courtlandt Johnson, an artist I looked up to. I must have been ten years old at the time. I went in to Rip City Skate shop and was amazed with all the colors, graphics, and the unique shape of the boards, but that skull & sword really stood out to me.”
This collection marks Taka Hayashi’s second Vans Pro Skate project, following the release of his 18th season of Vault by Vans designs this past September.
