Barney’s Exeter
Best breakfast spot: Greggs – oh my god we’ve got a Greggs mate. Finally got it a few months ago, chillin’. It’s fucking sick!
Best form of transportation: All you need is your legs mate, everything’s fucking close. Takes half an hour to get from one side of town to the other.
Best skate shop: Boarding House – yeah, it’s the shit! The one and only skate shop in Exeter.
Best band: Local band? King Dizzy mate! Biscuits, AKA King Dizzy – his name’s Dylan Hughes, by the way.
Best local video: “Bangers n’ Gash” – an epic old video, there’s only like two copies of it!
Best local video section: It has to be Spoon in “Bangers n’ Gash” – so funny! He gives himself PJ Ladd’s song off “Wonderful, Horrible Life”.
Best local – back in the day: Bonus, Jason Baites, Duncan Stephens, Dan Yosan and Brendan Appleby.
Best local – present: Just the Exeter crew, they’re all savage.
Best skate spot – back in the day: Barnfield – a flat bank, with a three set and a manny pad.
Best skate spot – present: Bus Station, it’s probably the best spot in Exeter. It’s an eleven set with a rail to skate over and a rail next to the wall.
Best undercover spot: City Centre benches – nice floor, spaced out benches but you never get any time to skate ’em.
Best skatepark – present: Flower Pots – F.P is the shit!
Best bar: Bar Valencia, or Bar V, on the river – chilliiiiiin’.
Best nightclub: They’re all fucking shit mate. Full of knobs.
Best restaurant: Greggs.
Best local slang phrase: “Savage”.
Best point of local interest/tourist must see: The cathedral, and the river – the quay.
Best local celebrity: Is there any celebrities, mate? That girl from Big Brother lives down by me, but I can’t remember her name though…
Best thing about living in Exeter: That’s a real hard one…erm, there’s nothing good about it!
