Focus Skate Store presents a ‘Focus Futures’ clip with Edinburgh youth Euan Lawson, who takes to a wide array of gnarly Scottish concrete with a Liquid Swords-fuelled vengeance. Saughton is obviously heavily on the agenda and sees some heavy lines and tricks put down, but appearances from Leith DIY, sketchy pump tracks, a few street spots and the venerable concrete of Livingston mix things up location wise. Jeff Phillips-channeling boneless ones, solidly crash test dummy style slams, a tight doubles situation with Joe Clowes, street early grabs and plenty more ammounts to just over three minutes of footage that will have you itching to go out and throw yourself at concrete.
This one also follows the tried and tested ‘When in doubt, throw in some Wu-Tang’ formula, utilising the title track from GZA’s classic Liquid Swords to good effect – scroll past the video for a related slice of dopeness.
Euan was also the man behind last year’s Scottish scene video Board Games, which you can watch for more from his crew. Beyond that this is one of the first sightings we’ve got from Euan, but judging by this part we’re sure we’ll be seeing more soon…

Just because sometimes I feel like these things need to be shared – I nearly posted this one by itself last week, but this offered the perfect opportunity to connect it to something more than just my own personal musical preferences. The GZA’s 1995 LP Liquid Swords sits comfortable in the top five releases from the Wu-Tang’s camp, building on the Kung Fu flick imagery and dark sampling of 36 Chambers to profound effect. It may not have been the last of his solo releases but he clearly knows what side his bread is buttered on as this clip dropped a couple of weeks ago which sees him powering through the first three tracks from the release with the help of New Orleans’ eight-piece brass ensemble The Soul Rebels. Living in the World Today is good, Duel of the Iron Mic doesn’t quite hit where it means to but Liquid Swords reimagined with a New Orleans brass backing and an interlude where GZA talks about the track’s inception is a must watch…
