Alex Moul and Blaqout Skateboarding – 2K17

An all terrain 2017

Alex Moul, Ryan Hall and the Backyard Bandits make a welcome return to our screens in a compilation clip of 2017 park and street destruction from Joshua Phillips’ Blaqout Skateboarding, featuring everyone from Mouly to transition lunatic Charlie Blair to random friends out for a session.

In case you’ve missed out on the Backyard Bandits videos, what started out with a straightforward backyard mini ramp edit featuring Alex, Greyson Fletcher, Sid Melvin and more was followed up by a lo-fi counterpart (featuring multiple canine photo bombs) before the ‘A Moul’s Eye View’ video saw them venturing further afield onto the streets, parks and backyard builds of the Southern California area. This round continues this trend and sees ditches, bowls, miniramps, big fuck off stair sets and pretty much everything else other than vert getting hit by the crew. Press play below to see what Alex has been up to for the last twelve months!

On a side note, how is it that whenever someone else does a front foot impossible it looks like an ugly flail into the early 90s abyss, but when Alex Moul does it he turns it into some Bruce Lee style king shit? I’m very much not sure that I’ve ever enjoyed watching another person do that trick in my life, if anybody has any suggestions of someone with a similarly stylish front foot wrap then that would be greatly appreciated!  For Mouly himself talking front foot impossibles, check his interview from Sidewalk 185…

I can’t remember when I actually learned that one but I do remember going to London one time and everybody buzzing about this new trick, the front foot impossible. Regular impossibles were already really trendy at that point so it was inevitable I guess. It started as this rumour, “oh apparently there are people doing impossibles around their front foot”.  When I first learned them I used to do them body varial, kind of a frontside bigspin but around your front foot.
