The 5th of February 2015 was marked by the sad news of Ideal skate shop having to close the doors of their much-loved miniramp due to rising prices, as described in this statement. While a new indoor park for Birmingham is in the discussion stages, until then I'm sure the ramp will be sorely missed by local heads and travelers to the Midlands alike. After a good few years keeping the stoke alive among the local skate community, a solid amount of footage and photos has been amassed. Here is our online salute to both shop and ramp, consisting of some of that footage - long live Ideal!

Not long after the ramp was built, A Third Foot got the session flowing with a miniramp jam and set from the Gentleman's Pistols (then including Dougie on bass). Shredding from him, Ben Blake, Gav Coughlan, Joxa, Lois Pendlebury, Woody, Manhead and Andy Scott makes up what looks like a banging session.

A miniramp session with Chris Haslam is bound to go off!

A heavy crew consisting of Mike Carroll, Andrew Brophy, Felix, Mark Gonzales and more shred the ramp - Mike Wright is miniramp poetry.

Raemers knows his way around a miniramp, here we see him smashing it in a hat which looks stolen from someones NASS weekend kit, as well as bringing out the front rock revert - a trick which hasn't really made an appearance since the days of Tom Boyle.

The hordes descend for a Krew jam and the snaking, slams and collisions commence. This is a heavy one that will definitely leave you wanting to skate your local mini.

Lakai + Brum = good, evidence of which was captured by Tom Gillespie last year. Vincent Alvarez, on one!

DIY extensions, swivel chairs on the platform and a Spits soundtrack as Moggins, Ben Broyd and Dead Dave take Sheffield to Birmingham for Moggins' birthday.

A big session, possibly the last big one before the ramp's recent closure (feel free to correct me on that), sees the Thrasher Vacation tour hitting some indoor wood among the general concrete vibes of the trip. Grant Taylor, Ben Grove and more bringing the hype.
