A proper treat from the vaults here - Alan Glass' first ever scene video 'V.I.P Dubplate Selection Vol. 1' has been online for some time without our noticing, but we're stoked that we finally have! Featuring a number of Brighton's finest rippers circa 1998, with a heavy emphasis on the amazing miniramp which used to reside at The Level and an even heavier emphasis on dancehall, jungle and ragga worship, this is a time capsule which is definitely worth a watch if you want a taste of what the late 1990s Brighton scene was all about.

Featuring a bunch of predominantly South East footage with Neil Fry, Mark Baines, Mark Brewster, Ian Wilkinson, Amir Williams, Nathan Capp, Steve Thornton, Julian Gilbert, Colin Pope, Bram Weeks and more, alongside footage from the legendary DC Super Tour which hit London to celebrate the then newly opened Playstation Skatepark with Rob Dyrdek, Moses Itkonen, Keith Hufnagel, Caine Gayle and Rick Howard.

Alongside that there are a couple of heavy montages from various demos and jams, which see plenty of familiar faces from the late 90s scene including Rodney Clarke, Matt Anderson, Mike Manzoori, Alex Moul, John Robinson, Jussi Korhonen, Dave Allen, Ben Leyden, Stu Graham, Harry Bastard, Ocean Howell, Scott Palmer, Paul Shier, Rob Selley, Greg Nowik, Vaughan Baker, Pete Hellicar, Mark Channer and Alan Rushbrooke.

For those of you who appreciate the rugged spots of Brighton in videos, which demand a creative eye for the most part, you could do worse than checking out the brilliant Instagram account @brighton.skateboarding which regularly dives deep into the murky waters of Brighton's skateboarding history.

For an overview of The Level as it stands now, here's a whole bunch of clips to procrastinate over and get hyped for a visit to the seaside.
