Theories of Atlantis presents Ben Gore in Static IV

Ben Gore fans have been well treated by Theories of Atlantis this week as, following on from his clips in the promo for new Theories company Dial Tone MFG, they have gone on to upload in full quality his part from Static IV. Josh Stewart's long running video series is one of skateboarding's finest cultural commodities, with his mastery of the fisheye lens the ideal accompaniment to the city streets which form the backdrop to the series (not to discount Paul Zitzer's incredible vert section, as well as the vert montage, in the original Static).

Add in a flair for both editing and for picking the riders involved with his projects and anything Static related is bound to have us immediately pricking up our ears. Static IV, with it's companion video Static V coming as a surprise bonus at the time of the video's various premieres, covered locations as varied as New York, San Francisco, Florida, London and Paris whilst simultaneously creating a cohesive vibe throughout which makes it the perfect pre-skate viewing.

Ben Gore takes care of SF duties here, firmly placed in context by a backside powerslide, mid hillbomb, following a cable car - are there many more iconic ways to spatially pin down your location in skateboarding? The part might only be just over two minutes in length but manages to squeeze in plenty of high speed cruising and awkward spots into the mix, with Gore's asleep at the wheel shredding an always welcome sight. Enjoy the skating below, then go find the DVD at your local skater owned shop or pick it up from the Theories web store!

"For the first time, Ben Gore's part from the 2014 video "Static IV" is now live. Filmed on 16mm and DV in San Francisco and NYC by Josh Stewart, Ryan Garshell and Zach Chamberlin."
