A lot of things don’t make sense in this world and the fact that I’ve only just been asked to write something about Robin for a First Light, instead of being asked at least 4 years ago, is pretty high up there.

To all that know him or to those that have only seen him skate once, it’s obvious that he’s a machine, charging full speed at anything in his way like a raucous ball of energy.

It’s always amazed me that this country bumpkin’s village car park training has spawned some of the powerful skateboarding I’ve ever witnessed. Not once have I seen him tip his toes to test the water when it comes to trying something; if Robin has an idea then he’s either going to make it first go, full throttle, or get broke off until he lands it. Whether they know him as Bobby, Big Sexy, Nibor Eel or Gucci, I’m sure I could find a small army between his usual stomping grounds of south east England and Barcelona that would back me up in saying that Robin Lee kills it on and off the board.

Robin straight kills it, and that’s not new information, he has killed it since I can remember. Not only does he kill it but he is also a stand up guy, always up for a laugh. It’s a mad thought that he didn’t have a First Light years ago, but that’s just a testament to the fact that he skates because he enjoys to do so rather than for recognition. It’s a difficult feat to be as inspiring on the board as Gucci is - there’s nothing better than watching somebody bomb round at 100 miles an hour doing tricks with as much control and power as Robin has when he skates. Every trick he does, is done properly.

Big ups amigo, stoked for this!
