Erik Ellington and Jim Greco founded Deathwish in North Hollywood back in 2008 along with business partner and long time friend Andrew Reynolds, out of their then newly established Bakerboys Distribution. At the time of its creation, Bakerboys was responsible for the distribution of its in-house brands, namely Deathwish Skateboards, Baker Skateboards and Shake Junt, though the outfit has grown significantly over the years and is now the stateside distributor for the likes of Heroin Skateboards and, more recently, Birdhouse Skateboards.
With graphics inspired by hair metal record sleeves of the 1980s and an undeniably ballistic crew – including founders Ellington and Greco alongside the likes of Slash, John Dixon, Neen Williams and ‘little big lad’ Jamie Foy – Deathwish has built up a solid army of followers over the course of the last nine years, and the whole operation shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, as their recent appearance on Thrasher’s ‘King of the Road’ is a firm testament to.

Clocking in at a narrow 7.75" wide, this logo based ‘Deathwish Stonewash’ deck is aimed at the denim appreciating skateboarder who prefers their set up a little more on the slender side. The concave isn’t too steep either, so if you’re in the market for a fairly mellow nose and tail on your 7.75" whip, you should be able to hear this shape clearly screaming out to you over the top of that Motley Crü live bootleg you’re currently listening to on YouTube.
