How to Backside Axle Stall

The backside axle stall is another fundamental basic that you will need to learn to gain confidence and speed and be able to link up the other tricks in this section on your local mini ramp. Again, it looks deceptively easy but will take a while for you to work the technique out properly…

When you’ve learned how to drop in, use your speed from dropping in to get to the other transition coping.

Ride up to the coping with enough speed to rest your back truck on the coping.

When you feel your truck touch the coping, you need to put your weight on your back foot. Lift your front foot around, turn your shoulders and drop your front truck on.

Once you’re comfortable, do another pivot into the ramp, and then use the same technique to roll away as you did from dropping in.
