We bring you ten of the most memorable UK centric tumbles of recent times.

Having a slow Tuesday? Never fear, we’ve come through with something that should help kill a little time and keep you simultaneously amused and flinching. Ladies and gentlemen…welcome to “The Ten Greatest Slams in UK Skateboarding?”

Everybody loves a good slam, so we decided to delve back into the archives and present to you ten of the most memorable UK centric tumbles of recent times. From comp runs gone wrong to misjudged attempts at street heroics, have a click below for a cross section of homegrown carnage.

What have we missed out? Feel free to post any clips you think should have made the cut in the comments section below.

1 – Ben Grove.

Champagne SuperGrover’s ill-timed gap to wall leap in Manchester earlier this year seems like a good enough way to kickstart proceedings. It’s undeniable that Grove knows his way around a solid ollie or two, so it was as much of a shock to us as it was him when this ill-timed Manchester wall leap sent him rushing straight to A&E earlier this year.
“Faster than a cannonball…”

2 – Stu Graham.

Livingston’s Stu Graham is one big lad, so when he goes down, you know he goes down hard. This dome splitting slam from NASS 2009 has to be up there with the worst that the Bath and West Showground has ever seen. Despite getting discharged from hospital that night and skating in the finals the very next day, this beatdown haunted Stu for a good few weeks afterwards. Even cold, hard concrete can’t stop The Ogre!

3 – Ben Raemers.

An Enjoi trip to Vegas sees Walton on the Naze native Ben Raemers spilling some blood when a hubba 5-0 sends the number one geezer straight onto his face.
“I hate needles, and I hate injections…”

4 – Jimmy Boyes.

To quote Geoff Rowley – “Jimmy is a free spirit, a seeker, a lover, a skater, a man of passion and strong beliefs: he lives outside the bubble. A freedom fighter, driven to live to the fullest, take your negative vibes and he will cleanse them.”

He also isn’t afraid to take a beating as and when his seven-ply companion decides that it’s time. Skip to 00:41 in his Sidewalk 200 section for proof…

5 – Mackey.

It’s no secret that the Lost Art proprietor is fond of a good slam or two, something which comes with the territory when you like to skate as fast and as hard as Mackey does. He’s spent more than he fair share of time on the injury bench over the years, but skip to 14 seconds in to his East ‘Vapors’ section from 2006 to witness a genuine bone shaker documented during a filming trip to Holland with Dykie and the crew.

6 – Danny Wainwright.

Ever taken one to the balls as hard as this? I saw Harry Lintell take an almost identical slam on the Rollersnakes tour back in summer and it wasn’t pretty. Stay safe out there…
Strap yourself in and skip to 03:27…

7 – Howard Cooke.

If you think your Tuesday afternoon could do with a bit of a brutal wake up call, get your eyes around this ‘Skateboarding’s Classic Slams’ clip, which sees Liverpool legend and one time Consolidated pro Howard Cooke getting beaten up by a kinked rail in New Jersey back in the day.

8 – Jimmy Boyes (again).

Further proof that Jimmy Boyes does not give one singular f*ck, here he can be seen entertaining a North East beer garden with a roof to table drop in that doesn’t quite go to plan…

9 – Josh Young.

The artist known as Manhead possess that much board control that it’s rare to see him slam. It’s even rarer that him slamming is caught on tape so I think most of the vigilant UK skate scene was shocked to see him going down so hard in the 2011 Shiner Big Push Offcuts.
Skip to 55 seconds to see Shuaa get served at Hyde Park…
