There are now over 750 skateboarders in Afghanistan, to which nearly half are female. This is fantastic for a number of reasons; firstly, in Afghanistan, girls are incredibly restricted as to what activities they are aloud to engage in and only 13% are literate.
Hopefully the freedom to skateboard will be the start to them gaining equal rights. Watch the video below then click here to learn more.
