Sidewalk Skateboarding Neil Smith - Sidewalk Skateboarding

Neil Smith

Neil Smith was part of the Blueprint Skateboards team from 2002 until 2012, featuring in the full-length Lost and Found (2005) and Make Friends WIth The Colour Blue (2010). After a short spell as a pro, he was demoted back to am status in 2008, but he finally returned to the pro ranks in June 2011, with a banging new part produced by Jake Harris and Dan Magee.

However, just a year later, the Blueprint team fell apart and Neil joined up the National Skateboard Co, where he starred in the company’s first web promo, released in 2013. Other videos in which Neil has featured include 2006’s independent release Into the Fall, edited by Russ Cowling and also starring riders such as David Underwood and Jay Tate, and the 2008 Spektra compilation.

Born on 5th May 1985 in Essex, Neil has been based since 2006 in east London. Apart from the National Skateboard Co., he is also currently a Nike SB UK pro rider, as well as being sponsored by Ricta Wheels, Mob Grip, Slam City Skates, Stella Supply Co. and Destructo Trucks.

Over the years – with a style that can be generously described as ‘risk-taking’ – Neil has steadily destroyed London’s established spots and seen potential in ones which other skaters wouldn’t even consider. And he built on his reputation as one of the capital’s finest-ever skaters with an appearance in Slam City Skate’s grimy, London-set City of Rats, in which he featured in a shared part alongside his flatmate Jerome Campbell.
