Sidewalk Skateboarding Danny Brady - Sidewalk Skateboarding

Danny Brady

In June 2013, British imprint Palace Skateboards announced that Danny Brady was the newest member of its company team. Joining at the same time as Brit legend Benny Fairfax, the pair’s welcome video used low-fidelity skate footage mixed with a collage of VHS-quality news clips and rap battles.

Danny appeared in a four-minute clip dedicated entirely to him before the end of the year called Definitely Brady, which blended archival footage with random scenes to create the impression of a VHS that had been recorded over several times. Other highlights of his career include a series of parts for his previous board sponsor Blueprint, such as Lost and Found (2005) and Make Friends With the Colour Blue (2010) as well as an amazing Nokia ad.

Danny was born in Blackpool in the north of England, but has become a quasi-Londoner, having lived in the capital for so long. He inspirations growing up were skaters such as Tim O’Connor, and, after being picked up by Blueprint in 2002, he was quickly enjoying sponsorship support from companies such as Venture Trucks, Matix Clothing and Lakai Footwear.

He has the ability to skate pretty much whatever he comes across with speed, smoothness and precise control. With pretty much all the tricks in the book, including backside lipslides, frontside half cab flips and backside blunt slides, it came as no shock when he won the Best Pro prize at the Vans Downtown Showdown in 2011, after killing the Rippers Alley and Tower Bridge sections of the course.
