Interviews

Newquay by Adam Moss

This weeks interview comes straight from Death Skateboards and Ipath footwear rider Adam Moss, who gives you a rundown of the home of Boardmasters and Cornish coastal stag night magnet, Newquay, in which he currently resides.

Get to grips with his insiders guide below…

Adam’s Newquay
Best breakfast spot: A’s Bakery pasties
Best form of transportation: Skateboard! Newquay is small and got a bunch of hills, so the shred sled is best!
Best skate shop: Flavour o’course!
Best record shop: There isn’t one, so the charity shop. There was two crates full of records on the curb outside one night…
Best band: Sons of Sirius
Best album: I don’t know if they have an album.
Best local video: ”Something Or Other” back in 2003.
Best video section: Steven Rhodes – “Something Or Other”
Best local – back in the day: Andrew “Yeish” Hodgson.
Best local – present: Grant Harrison.
Best skate spot – back in the day: Morfa Hall marble curbs.
Best skate spot – present: “Fraggle Rock” at the park, pretty much the only one.
Best undercover spot: Nope…
Best skatepark – back in the day: Youth Centre flatbar and mini-ramp.
Best skatepark – present: The one and only ‘Wooden Waves’.
Best bar: Bellushies maybe, the Beach Bar on Fistral is pretty tight.
Best nightclub: Koola probably, it’s the most bearable
Best restaurant: Lotus Thai
Best local slang phrase: “Long and Strong”
Best point of local interest/tourist must see: The beaches I guess, or the house on the cliff at Towan.
Best local celebrity: Phillip Schofield or James Morrison? I don’t know who’s best, but I reckon Schofield would win in a fight!
Best thing about living in Newquay: It’s chilled out, it’s got beaches with good surf, and there’s no chavs!
