Joe Gavin scored the first of our city based interviews back in April talking about his hometown of Manchester, now fellow Note brethren, Manc new blood and Vans and Alien Workshop flow rider Matthew Nevitt gives you his take on life in the city.

Best breakfast spot: Rustica, all the way.
Best form of transportation: Skateboard, that way you can hit up spots on the way.
Best skate shop: NOTE, 11 years old today (15th July 2010)
Best record shop: Vinyl Exchange
Best band: Suzuki Method
Best album: Oasis – Definitely Maybe.
Best local video: “Leisure” by Stu Bentley, captured the best of the best.
Best video section: There’s too many. Kendrick’s “That’s What You Get” part is one of my favourites at the moment.
Best local – back in the day: Mike Matthews!
Best local – present: Tyrone, he’s too bloody good.
Best skate spot – back in the day: Gasworks
Best skate spot – present: Spinningfields
Best undercover spot: MEN, Level 7.
Best skatepark – back in the day: Bones in Bolton – Manchester didn’t have any when I first started.
Best skatepark – present: The Pump Cage
Best bar: Opposite Note, The Black Dog. Fond memory of Slam vs Note pool session.
Best nightclub: Venue – Friday night is Motown night.
Best restaurant: Zizzi’s in Spinningfields.
Best local slang phrase: Me and Dom are making “Swanny” happen from the other side of the world.
Best point of local interest/tourist must see: Coronation Street.
Best local celebrity: Bez, he signed my Landscape Snowy “Happy Mondays” deck!
Best thing about living in Manchester: My family, friends & home are here.
